Fueled on a few bottles of Chianti and some amazing pasta from Paula's restaurant next door we started  the transformation on a Thursday night in July and officially opened that Tuesday after a long and hot weekend of renovation (thanks to a lot of friends and family that rolled up there sleeves and scraped tape off of every surface) -we still owe you. We wanted to open a nice, friendly wine store that would be a welcome addition to not only our fellow residents, but to the community. We have been told by several of our customers that they "feel like they are in someone's living room".  To us, this is the best compliment we could ever receive. That was our idea even before we opened our doors to the public.
The reason we opened this store besides our passion for wine and great food was to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere from a wine store that believes that buying wine should be easy and enjoyable. We do not want to be that typical standard of pretentious and condescending behavior that you find today in the world of wine. Trust us, if someone treats a customer like that, they really do not know what they are talking about. Our goal is your satisfaction and that you trust your own palate.
Don't get caught up in the presumptuous wine rating system. Just use it as a guideline, like we do. We will not bring in a wine solely based on how much press it gets or how many points it receives from the so-called wine "authoritites on wine". We taste it first then form our own opinion. Drink what you like and be a rebel. You might be glad that you did.
Enjoy and remember that "Wine should be enjoyed, not worshipped"-Keith, Kim and Opus
